Paris carries the deepest bench in this index: 40 ranked hotels, all of them holding MICHELIN Keys, nine at the three-key level. The palace tradition here is architectural as much as commercial, running from the Ritz Paris on Place Vendome through Le Bristol on rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore and Le Meurice facing the Tuileries, buildings whose salons, courtyards and gilt panelling have been restored rather than replaced.
More recent arrivals shifted the map. Cheval Blanc Paris took the Art Deco upper floors of La Samaritaine above the Pont Neuf, and Hotel de Crillon reopened on Place de la Concorde after years of structural work. Eleven Paris addresses also appear on La Liste and five on The World's 50 Best Hotels, with ten holding Forbes Five Star.

Prestige score is shown out of 10. Sources: MICHELIN Guide hotel selection, Forbes Travel Guide 2026 Star Awards, The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023 to 2025, La Liste Top 1000 Hotels.
The concentration is heaviest in the 8th arrondissement, where the Golden Triangle around avenue Montaigne and avenue George V holds Le Plaza Athenee and Four Seasons George V, and in the 1st between Place Vendome and the Tuileries; La Reserve sits closer to the Champs-Elysees, while the Left Bank offers quieter townhouse scale in the 6th and 7th.
The September and March fashion weeks and the autumn trade fair season are the hardest stretches of the year to book, with the best rooms committed months ahead; August, when much of the city closes, and the flat weeks of January and February are the easiest.
By prestige score, the three highest ranked hotels in Paris are Cheval Blanc Paris, Le Bristol Paris, Hotel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel. The score is a composite of MICHELIN Keys, Forbes Travel Guide Five Star ratings, placements in The World's 50 Best Hotels for 2023, 2024 and 2025, and La Liste's hotel ratings. finehotels.world tracks 40 award holding hotels in Paris in total.
Paris has 40 hotels holding MICHELIN Keys in this index, of which 9 hold the top rating of three Keys and 7 hold two Keys.
Each hotel is scored on a fixed formula built only from award facts, then shown on a scale of 5.00 to 10.00. MICHELIN Keys carry the most weight, a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star rating adds a flat six points, placements in The World's 50 Best Hotels for 2023, 2024 and 2025 are weighted equally, and a La Liste rating moves the total slightly. Nothing a hotel supplies about itself enters the score, and the full formula is published on the methodology page so any figure in the table can be reproduced from the awards beside it.
